about

Kate Transue is an artist living in the suburbs of Philadelphia. In high school, a good friend took her to an oil painting class at Fleisher Art in Philadelphia. That, along with previous classes, was enough to cement her love of painting.

Kate graduated from Arcadia University in Glenside, PA with a Bachelor of Fine Arts, with a concentration in Painting in December 2012.

Her work varies greatly - for Kate's thesis work, she focused on her own body image and insecurities to create a series of large scale nude self-portraits. One of these paintings won a place in the Juried Art Competition held at Arcadia University, curated by Charles Ritchie.

Kate is currently focusing on expanding her body of work by painting whenever and whatever she feels like. She creates ink drawings of birds, watercolors of old men, still lifes of fruit, and many portraits.
